Under the Nile was started in 1998 by a California mother with a fashion degree who went to Egypt for its cotton and partnered with SEKEM, a farming and manufacturing group there. It makes baby and toddler clothing, sleepwear, blankets, toys and nursery goods from Egyptian cotton, all sewn at its factory in Egypt.
